Streather enjoys Allianz Park debut
Tim Streather enjoyed his first outing at Allianz Park as a Saracens player last night, as the former Nottingham center impressed his new fans scoring three tries for his new club in the Group C stage of the JP Morgan Asset Management Premiership 7s.
"Apart from the result at the end it was a great evening" said the 25 year old.
“The stadium is fantastic, and in the last game tonight there was a great buzz around place - I thoroughly enjoyed playing here tonight”.
“It was a shame the result in the final game, and losing in the way we did was disappointing" he added, "but the boys dug in seriously deep after another tough week’s training and we can walk away tonight with our heads held high and we are looking forward to next Friday”.
Both Harlequins and Saracens progressed to meet Leicester Tigers, Newcastle Falcons, Worcester Warriors, Bath and Gloucester in the finals at Bath next Friday evening, and Streather is already looking forward for the sevens showpiece at The Rec.
"We are hoping that we can have another crack at it next week - obviously we need to perform well next week and turn that disappointing last few minutes around. They are a lot of positives that we can take into next week – the boys really worked hard, there was some fantastic individual performances and we have a lot to build on for Friday at The Rec”.
He added; “There’s a lot more room in sevens than there is in the fifteen a-side format, so it gives you a chance to showcase the more attacking side of your abilities, so it’s nice to hopefully show the fans a few glimpses of what I’m capable of and I’m just looking forward to pulling on that jersey and playing for Saracens again".
