Streather hails 'great performance'
Tim Streather believes Sunday’s defeat of Exeter Chiefs was one of Saracens’ most ‘composed’ performances of the season.
The 25-year old centre crossed for a first half try in Saracens’ 35-18 win and speaking after the game, he praised the team’s performance: “It felt like one of our most composed performances as a side together.
"I thought we had great width throughout the game in defence and they only really troubled us through our own ill-discipline. Speno (Ben Spencer) and Nils (Mordt) have controlled things really well throughout this campaign and I thought they were brilliant once again. It was a great performance today and one that was a pleasure to have been a part of.
“It was great to cross for a try as it has been a long time out for me. It’s been great to get a run of games together and with every match I’m feeling that little bit sharper. It’s always great to score in a game like this, but more to the point it helps us get to the semi-finals. We have a very strong young group of players. In this group we are still unbeaten in all our games during the A-League and the LV=Cup. Now we have a huge game against Saints in the semi-final, and this is a special group and one that is capable of getting to the final.”
He added: “We had the same tie last year, away from home, and they put out a full strength side then and I think they will probably do the same this time around. It will be different this year as we’ll be at home and we will be playing in front of our home fans. We definitely want to go one step further and that’s the aim so far.
"We’ve answered every question asked of so far this season, so this is certainly the biggest challenge for this group and hopefully we can go a step further and get to the final.”
