Charity Golf Day
The Saracen’s Sport Foundation launched ‘Sarrie’s Swing’ with a Charity Golf Day at Essendon Country Club.
July saw the first annual Saracens Sport Foundation Charity Golf Day with over 50 players taking to the course at the extremely picturesque Essendon Country Club located in North Hertfordshire. The day celebrated the Foundations latest programme; Sarrie’s Swing, a disABILITY golf programme.
Players enjoyed a fantastic day in the sun before helping out in the Sarrie’s Swing participants chipping challenge to round off their 8-week programme. As players from the golf day sat down to dinner, each participant that completed the Sarrie’s Swing programme received a certificate from their new Saracen’s hero Jackson Wray.
We want to thank everyone who took part in the day and help to make it such a success as well as the fantastic staff at Essendon for holding such a great event. We hope to see all of you again next year at what we plan to be an even bigger and more spectacular day!
We are delighted to announce that on 9th July, 3 of our Sarrie’s Track Club members completed the British 10km Westminster run.
Marc, Robbie and Chris each took on the 10km route with their buddy runners who they train with each week at Allianz Park. For some of our runners this was the first time they had ever taken on a challenge of this nature and many smashed the targets they had initially set themselves, not only finishing the race but with many setting sub 1 hour times!
Massive congratulations to all our runners, in particular Robbie, Marc and Chris who have shown such great determination to raise awareness of Autism and Saracens Sport Foundation.
