Tompkins stars in England U18s win
Nick Tompkins was named BMW Man of the Match as England U18s brushed aside Australia Schools in a convincing 23-3 victory at Harrow School.
Saracens Academy centre Tompkins was at the heart of a strong England performance, with 18 year-old former Oakland College student a constant threat to the Australian Schools defence with a series of line breaks and was equally impressive in defence, producing a number of quality tackles.
After the game Tompkins (who recently started both of Saracens LV=Cup games against London Wasps and the Scarlets) said; “It was a great performance from the lads; fair play to the Aussies they really gave us their all and it was only 9-3 at half-time.
“They came out at us harder than maybe we thought they would and it was a really physical game.
“We made a few mistakes and if you look back then maybe we didn’t execute as well as we should have in the final third, but it was great game to play” added Tompkins.
