Happy New Year and welcome to your first newsletter of 2017! I am delighted to have joined the team on 3rd January as Fundraising Manager. In my first few weeks I have been visiting some of the excellent foundation projects such as Love to Dance and DisABILITY sport. I was extremely impressed with the professionalism, dedication and passion of the staff which shone through. On speaking with beneficiaries, it is clear the positive difference our support is making to individuals and families in the community. It’s no surprise that we are now proud to be a ‘Disability Confident’ committed organisation. We are working our way to demonstrate that we are an employer that ensures disabled people and those with long term health conditions can fulfil their potential and realise their aspirations.
I have now attended 2 match days and I enjoyed meeting some of you at the game and hope to meet more of you in the coming weeks and months. Now that you know what I look like I hope you will introduce yourself to me (thanks to John Trigg for taking this photo of me with the European Rugby Championship Cup)!
In the first part of this year we have already secured £10,000 from Herts Sport Partnership to continue our hugely successful Love to Dance programme across Hertfordshire. We also received £68,000 from Premiership Rugby to run an exciting new rugby programme, details of which will be confirmed very soon. We are also busy writing several funding applications including the highly sought after Sport England inactivity funding and the Comic Relief ‘Levelling the Field’ funding (which aims to empower women and girls through sport).
