Welsh win caps off a 'Whirlwind' week for Wray
Jackson Wray capped off a fine week for the Wray household, after he crossed for a try in Saracens 78-7 win over London Welsh in the week he became a Father for the first time.
Wray, who scored Saracens’ sixth try in their 11 try rout of the Oxford-based Exiles, admitted he has experienced a ‘whirlwind’ week after the birth of his first child in the build-up to Saturday's clash at Allianz Park.
Speaking after the game, Wray said; “It’s been a whirlwind week to be honest. I went to hospital on the Sunday after the Sale Sharks game, and 36-hours later our little daughter came along. The first part of the week was unbelievable, and now to get a really good win has made it even better".
On the game he added; “It’s not as easy as what it seems when you play in these types of games. You have to stay on track, you have to stay disciplined on the ball, as it can be very easy to throw around and start being a little loose.
“We tried to stay as composed as possible, play in the structure we want to play, our phase play and our ability to control the game was very good. It was unfortunate to let them in for a try, but all-in-all it was a great day”.
