Wyles disappointed with first half showing
Chris Wyles believes Saracens can take some “heart” from their second half showing as they battled back from 3-25 to secure a losing bonus point against Northampton Saints.
A dejected Wyles admitted the whole squad were left bitterly disappointed after the loss to the Premiership champions, but believes they were plenty of positives to take away after a much improved second-half showing.
“Today was pretty disappointing, especially that first half performance,” said Wyles after the game. “Northampton are a good side, and they put us under a huge amount of pressure and that was down to our own making.
"I think we can take a lot of heart from that second-half performance. That second-half showed what we are all about in terms of our performance, but it was just too late and that’s what’s so disappointing. We can take that last forty minutes into Exeter next week".
He added; “It was a good response in second-half, and we’ve responded to set-backs time and again at this club, so we’ll have a good look at ourselves this week and hopefully put in a quality 80 minute performance down at Sandy Park."
