Chris Wyles is hoping Saracens can carry the momentum their superb victory over Munster into Sunday’s crunch clash against ASM Clermont Auvergne.
Trailing the Montferrand based giants by a solitary in a finely poised European Champions Cup Pool 1, the winners of Sunday’s game will secure first place in one of tournament's tightest groups.
Speaking after Saturday’s game, Wyles said: “Clermont will be a massive occasion and we can take a lot of confidence from today into the game. We know that away at Clermont is a tough as it comes, but it’s definitely exciting times for the club and we’re really looking forward to next Sunday."
On the Munster result, Wyles (who scored a first half try) added: “It has been an amazing day. There was such a great vibe out on the pitch and we knew Munster would provide us with such a tough test and as a group we pulled through. We were physical, we were clinical it was a great day overall.
“There was just a good atmosphere all round. We were energised and our physicality overall was good and we just did our fundamentals really well today. We’re delighted.”
